Fall 2022 Wines
2020 Trovato Vineyard Chardonnay
Picked early from our Yamhill-Carlton estate in order to retain acidity, moderate alcohol, and restrained fruit, we present the 2020 iteration of our Trovato Chardonnay. Aromas of lemon meringue and green pear are supplemented by delicate floral notes of chamomile and lilac. The palate is endlessly fresh, offering juicy lime pulp and a lasting acid-driven finish.
Drink now through 2027 | Pair with a Shrimp Pasta with Preserved Lemon
12.5 % abv | 10 months in 95% neutral, 5% new French oak barrels | 642 cases produced
2020 Piano Piano Chardonnay
The Piano Piano Chardonnay: Trovato Chardonnay’s counterpart! Born of the same lot of wine, we separate out four barrels and allow the wine to remain in barrel almost twice as long. 18 months in barrel gives this wine more secondary notes in comparison to the more fruit-driven Trovato Chardonnay. Blanched almond, coconut, and dried grass accompany assorted citrus and green apple. The palate is full bodied with flavors of vanilla, lemon, and creme brulee, while retaining elegant texture and a balanced tangy finish.
Drink now through 2027 | Pair with a Coconut-Miso Salmon Curry
12.7 % abv | 18 months in neutral French oak barrels | 16 months on lees with batonnage | 104 cases produced
2019 Block 10 Pinot Noir
Sourced from a single three-acre block of Pommard clone Pinot Noir, the Block 10 is a pure example of why Pommard is the most widely plant clone in Oregon! Respected for good color, intense fruit, notable spice and a luxurious mouthfeel, this wine fills your glass with notes of black cherry, plum, and cinnamon stick. Lifted aromas of river rocks and cedarwood. The palate gives even more plum, plus tart cherry, sweet baking spice, and rose petal. This unique and undeniably pretty wine balances fine grained tannins with refreshing acidity, and a lengthy anise-tinged finish.
Drink now through 2031 | Pair with Five-Spice Duck Breast and Blackberries
13.3 % abv | 10 months in 60% neutral, 20% two-year, 20% one year old French oak barrels | 100% destemmed, native fermentation, 100% Free-Run juice, unfined | 151 cases produced
2020 Block 10 Pinot Noir
Our three-acre block of one of the first Pinot Noir clones planted in Oregon (Pommard) produces a wine of extreme finesse and delicacy. The hot 2020 vintage has given us a much more rustic expression of this clone in comparison to the cool 2019 vintage. Opening with dark cherries and pomegranate the nose also offers herbacious tones of savoury and tarragon, plus fresh wood chips and mesquite. Its palate presents more pomegranate, plus mouth coating tannins, and a savory and dry finish.
Drink now through 2024 | Pair with a classic Beef Bourguignon
13.5 % abv | 10 months in neutral French oak barrels | 100% destemmed, native fermentation, 100% Free-Run juice, unfined | 100 cases produced
2019 Wadenswil Pinot Noir
Our two acre block of one of the original Pinot Noir clones planted in the Willamette Valley produces a generous wine of remarkable complexity! This 2019 Wadenswil is the inaugural offering of this single-clone bottling. Filling your glass with mixed berries (blueberry, cranberry, black currant) and perfumed notes of citrus black tea. The fruit here is lush and juicy, balanced by intriguing aromas of red apple sin and graphite. In the mouth you’ll find more juicy, mixed-berry flavors, moderate acidity, silky tannins, and a lifted finish.
Drink now through 2031 | Pair with a Pasta with Turkish-style Lamb & Eggplant
13.2 % abv | 10 months in 50% neutral, 30% two-year, 20% one year old French oak barrels | 100% destemmed, native fermentation, 100% Free-Run juice, unfined | 151 cases produced
2020 Wadenswil Pinot Noir
The 2020 iteration of our Wadenswil Pinot Noir is heartier and more robust than its 2019 counterpart – as befits the warmer vintage. Blackberry and blueberry are accompanied by lifted herbal tones of eucalyptus and rosemary. As with many of the wines from our Yamhill-Carlton estate, the 2020 Wadenswil also exhibits pronounced minerality – like crushed granite. The mouthfeel here is lush and full, and the tannins are accordingly bold yet sweet.
Drink now through 2024 | Pair with a classic roast lamb chop with rosemary & garlic
13.9 % abv | 10 months in one year old French oak barrels | 100% destemmed, native fermentation, 100% Free-Run juice, unfined | 100 cases produced
2019 L’Altra Pinot Noir
*Red’s Only Members*
A true cherry color in glass, the 2019 iteration of our L’Altra is ripe with notes of juicy Italian plums, cranberry sauce, and hints of tangerine. Following its fruity beginnings then, is a more rustic backbone of woodsy cedar and fresh rosemary. While young, the palate shows off a wonderfully pure expression of fruit, though never cloying – its notes of luscious rainier cherries, blueberry, and soft cinnamon are livened by a powerful acidity and evolving yet vibrant finish. This wine would find a happy home next to a cedar plank salmon, or a lavish spread of Mediterranean dishes. Representative of its cooler vintage, the 2019 L’Altra demonstrates tremendous ageability.
Drink now through 2030.
12.5 | 10 months in 25% new French oak | 100% destemmed, native fermentation, unfined, unfiltered | 326 cases produced
2018 L’Altra Pinot Noir
*Red’s Only Members*
On the nose, this 60% Pommard, 40% Dijon clones Pinot displays fresh aromas of cranberry, crushed strawberries, and hints of violet. Bright and vibrant in the mouth, the finish brings an extra layer of dusty spice, while the fine, dry tannins will make your taste buds salivate. Graceful while stern, this wine is a classic example of a Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.

Winter 2023 Padrini Wines
2019 Blanc de Blanc Sparkling
Introducing the inaugural vintage of our Yamhill-Carlton estate Blanc de Blanc! 100% Chardonnay produced par méthode champenoise, with 33 months en tirage has given us a stunning and elegant sparkling wine. Bright notes of pomelo, granny smith, and white flowers are followed by hints of fresh sage and pastry crust. The palate is equally as refreshing, offering more green apple, lime juice, salinity, and mouthwatering acidity.
Drink now through 2027 | Pair with Scallop Crudo | 11.5 % abv | 100% Chardonnay | 33 months en tirage, 6 g/L dosage | 141 cases produced
2019 Piano Piano Chardonnay
A bright, crystalline lemon in the glass, this second edition of our over-vintaged Chardonnay is here to prove what extra patience and time in barrel can do for this noble grape. For this reserve wine, we start by selecting four neutral oak barrels of Trovato Vineyard Chardonnay and then allow them to age longer than our traditional Chardonnay: 18 months instead of 10. The result is a stunningly complex wine that still maintains plenty of vibrancy. The nose offers an alluring bouquet of lime flower, white peach, and crisp asian pear, followed by some more mature aromas of honeysuckle, granite, and custard. The palate is equally complex – delivering walnut, honey, and lemon tart. There’s a lasting and fresh lemon-lime finish, supported by captivating acidity.
Drink now through 2030 | Pair with Lobster & Mushroom Risotto | 12.3 % abv | 18 months in 75% neutral French oak, 25% one-year old barrels | 100 cases produced
2019 Trovato Chardonnay
Here is another wine coming from our Trovato Vineyard in Yamhill to your glass. For the second edition of this wine, we decided to add another layer of complexity by fermenting and aging the wine in some premium quality new French oak barrels; as well as some older, neutral barrels. We also included the use of a unique new barrel made of 50% French oak staves and 50% acacia wood staves. The result will be obvious to those of you familiar to our previous Chardonnay releases.
Aromatically, the wine is bursting with aromas of toasted bread and vanilla, but also Asian pear and notes of lime peel. In the mouth, it displays a great minerality with an elegant and seamless structure.
Drink now through 2028 | Pair with Crab & Fennel Fettuccine | 12.2 % abv | 10 months in 80% neutral, 20% new French oak barrels | 438 cases produced
2019 La Linea Pinot Noir
The brilliantly refreshing 2019 La Linea is the flagship wine from our old-vine Dundee Hills estate vineyard. Bright notes of ripe red cherries, nutmeg, and orange zest fill your glass. The palate brings cranberry, tart blueberry, and hints of clay. With a powerful and mouth-watering acidity, we recommend drinking 2024-2031, or decanting in its youth.
Drink 2024-2033 | Pair with Duck Confit & Braised Lentils
12.5 % abv | 10 months in 75% neutral, 25% new French oak barrels | 251 cases produced
2019 Vincenzo Pinot Noir
A quintessential expression of the Dundee Hills, with aromas of black cherry, strawberry, and balsa wood. The palate is generous, offering rich black plum, fresh sage, and eucalyptus. True to its vintage, the tannins are firm and there is ample acidity. A powerful wine, from a classic Oregon vintage, this will continue to evolve beautifully over the course of the next 10 years.
Drink 2024-2033 | Pair with Lamb & Pork Ragu | 12.5% abv | 100% Free run juice, 10 months in 60% neutral, 40% new French oak barrels | 126 cases produced

SPRING 2023 WINES
2022 Vintage Reflections from Dom
Winter fell in love with Oregon in 2022, and seemed to never want to let go. The frost event in early April damaged buds emerging from dormancy and created chaos in the vineyard. Panicking winemakers not only had to worry about the possibility of an unripe crop but also of a small crop. But summer finally arrived, and like winter, it decided to linger in the Willamette Valley longer than usual. Although some sites (like our Dundee estate Furioso Vineyard) reported a low yield, our Trovato Vineyard in Yamhill (higher elevation and a cooler macroclimate meant later budbreak) produced a bumper crop. In fact, 2022 was our biggest harvest at Furioso ever, with 89 tons! The warm and sunny October days allowed our fruit to achieve their full ripeness and all the grapes were safely in the winery before rain finally arrived third week of October.
Fast forwarding over the long days of harvest cellar work with its endless series of pump-overs, punch-down, pressing and barreling down, and here we are now entering a new spring, and a new growing season.
Some of our 2022 wines are already in the bottle (some of them even making their way to your cellar as we speak!) but our Chardonnays and Pinots are still tucked away, enjoying a few more months in barrel before being bottled this August. In February, we bottled the next generation of our sparkling program: 2022 Brut Rosé and Blanc de Blanc. You won’t see these released until at least 2025, but rest assured it will be worth the wait.
Tasting our 2022 wines in barrel, I am impressed with the quality of a vintage which was originally deemed as challenging. I am seeing lots of similarities with 2021: the Pinots are showing rich opulent fruit, and the Chardonnays are vibrant with riper aromatics. Like 2021, it will certainly be a vintage that can be enjoyed in its youth.
As for 2023, the vines right now are still dormant; and that is a good thing as the weather forecast is still reporting nearly freezing temperatures (feels like a repeat of 2022 in a way). Please spare a thought for our Viticulturist Shea and Cellar Master Alex who will be battling those wintery conditions to finish tying-down the canes this week.
And finally, we hope you love this selection of newly released wines! The frizzanté is the newest addition to our portfolio, made in the style of prosecco rosé, intended to be lightly sparkling and enjoyed this year. While we recommend another couple years of aging (at least) for the 2019 Vincenzo and 2021 La Linea, we find that the Melon, Gina, and Pietro are all drinking wonderfully now. And if you’re asking yourself, “what happened to Friulano?” or, “I hope they made rosé this year!” – fret not. They will be released later this spring, after a bit more time in bottle, and our Famiglia will be the first to know.
Thank You, as always, for your continued support,

2022 Rosé Frizzanté
We started making sparkling wines in 2017, with a Brut Rosé, followed two years later by a Blanc de Blanc and Blanc de Noir. While methode champenoise has been the cornerstone of our sparkling program, it is a practice in patience and takes a minimum of 3 years before they are ready to be released. Enter frizzante! A delightful, gently sparkling wine to be enjoyed young, while we await the long term aging of our methode champenoise wines. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, we picked and pressed the fruit early to retain a delicate rose hue, graceful red fruit notes, and refreshing acidity. The wine opens with notes of rainier cherries, fresh roses, and lime leaf. The palate offers flavors of raspberry and tangerine, soft bubbles, and just a touch of sweetness balanced by its ample acidity.
Pair with crudités with garlicky aioli, and bleu cheeses.
Drink 2023-2025 | 12.9% | 230 cases produced | Force Carbonated

2022 Melon de Bourgogne
We produced a Melon de Bourgogne for the first time in 2021, after happening upon an opportunity to purchase fruit from Golden Leaf Vineyard in southern Oregon’s beautiful Umpqua Valley. We jumped at the chance to work with this Loire Valley varietal, loved the resulting wine, and are happy to bring it back for another vintage! A slightly cooler year than 2021, the 2022 iteration of this wine brings a host of green fruits. The glass is brimming with granny smith apple, lime zest, honeydew, and pear. While fruit forward, the Melon also brings an element of salinity, akin to oyster shell or sea breeze. Flavors of pineapple, lime curd, and kumquat round out a bright and juicy palate. Its lean and energetic acidity promises to pair well with seafood and shellfish of all kinds.
Pair with oysters on the half shell and a mignonette sauce, or a classic mussels & frites.
Drink 2023-2026 | 12.8% | 299 cases produced | 5 months in stainless steel, sur lie

2021 La Linea Pinot Noir
Consistently our most delicate bottling, the 2021 version of La Linea does not deviate, despite the record breaking heat of the 2021 vintage. A blend of 75% Pommard Clone, 25% Dijon 115 – the nose is full of notes of sour cherry and italian plums, complemented by hints of violets, fresh nutmeg, and dried ginger. While the wine calls for another few years to fully express itself, the palate is already presenting a bouquet of very pretty and graceful flavors. Stewed strawberries, rose petals, and raspberries followed by soft and dusty tannins and a refreshing acidity.
Pair with an herbed salmon & goat cheese salad over Israeli couscous.
Drink 2025-2032 | 13.5% | 256 cases produced | 10 months in 25% new French oak | 100% free-run juice

2021 Gina Pinot Noir
Named for Giorgio’s aunt Gina, a close relative who along with his mother, gave him a fond appreciation for food and family gatherings.
The newest iteration of this barrel-select is full of fresh aromas of blueberry and blackberry – very ripe fruited, as befits the warm 2021 vintage. Following this are delicate hints of mint and red apple skin. The mouthfeel is big and luscious and offers sweet tannins balanced by a delightfully prickly acidity and a tangy marionberry finish.
Pair with Lemongrass Coq au Vin.
Double Gold, 2023 SF Chronicle Wine Competition
Drink 2023-2029 | 13.9% | 450 cases produced | 10 months in neutral French oak | 100% free-run juice

2021 Pietro Pinot Noir
The 2021 vintage gave us a long, warmer than average summer – resulting in exceedingly friendly, ripe fruited Pinot Noirs. Though still young, the 2021 Pietro already offers an aromatic nose and textured palate to match. While there is an abundance of ripe black fruit notes, there are also plenty of leaner herbacious and mineral-tinged notes to create balance. The finish brings more juicyness alongside sweet tannins…a wine that promises to please universally.
Pair with Lamb Shank Tagine with Dates & Pomegranate.
Gold, 2023 SF Chronicle Wine Competition
Drink 2023-2029 | 13.9% | 1165 cases produced | 10 months in 25% new french oak, 75% neutral
